Bubble Necklace, Crafts, Fun Recipes and Football!
Lately in the Gregory House we have been enjoying some shopping, crafting, cooking and Alabama football!
Alabama earned there second win in a row this weekend and our family couldn't be happier.
A couple weeks ago while on Facebook, Cole Couture posted a status update about a shipment of bubble necklace's that had just arrived in there store on Thomasville Road. I was so very excited when I read this because not only was it oh so affordable at $30.00, but also because I had been shopping around for this necklace for months and never saw a price lower than 50 bucks! They had so many pretty colors to choose from and here is the one I ended up with!
I am just smitten with this necklace. It looks super cute with just about every top in my closet!
This weekend I set two crafting goals for myself.
1.) To make a burlap football wreath
2.) Make some fall apothecary jars
I traveled to Hobby Lobby for my materials.
I guess everyone decided this weekend to make football wreaths
because they were completely out of brown burlap!
Urg!!!
I was not going to let this stop me so I changed it up a little bit.
You can find the tutorial for the football shaped wreath here
Burlap Football Themed Wreath:
This is a fairly easy project to do.
But of course on my first attempt it was close to an epic fail!
First Attempt......No buneo!!!
I got a little too creative trying to free hand the image I choose.
Second Attempt = SUCCESS!!!
I plan on calling Hobby Lobby this week to see when there shipment of brown burlap will arrive.
Stay tuned for the pictures of my Fall Apothecary Jars!
One of my favorite things to do on Saturday Morning is watch cooking shows.
I am definitely a foodie and love to recreate interesting recipes I come across.
On "Home For Dinner With Jamie Deen" he made an oh so scrumptious looking Green Bean Salad that I had to make myself.
Our neighbors actually came over to our house to watch the game the first time I made this salad and along with my husband they loved it.
Ingredients:
kosher salt
1 pound slender green beans, ends trimmed
1 cup feta cheese crumbles
1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
2 tbsp chopped red onion
3 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp garlic powder (can substitute with fresh garlic)
Freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
Boil a large pot of salted water.
Add the green beans and
cook until tender crisp, 1 to 2 minutes.
Use a spider to remove to a bowl of ice
water.
Drain well, pat dry and place the beans in a large bowl.
Combine with the
feta cheese, tomatoes and red onions.
Whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, basil, garlic and some salt
and pepper.
Pour the dressing over the green beans.
Let marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.
And for your viewing pleasure some adorable photos of Colton in his new Alabama Jersey!
What a difference a year makes!!!!!
Next Up......11 Years
