This weekend we went to Hobby Lobby to get the materials to make a king sized headboard. We found these pretty metal signs!

This picture is a little fuzzy. It says "If I had my life to do over again......I'd find you sooner so I could love you longer." My sweet husband picked this out and he hung this in our bedroom.
As you know I am pretty fond of Pinterest. I found many great tutorials on how to make an upholstered headboard. They were all very similar so I decided to try it.
MATERIALS:
1 sheet of 3/8" plywood
staple gun
Jig saw
upholstry fabric (for my king sized bed I used 3 yards)
cotton badding
foam (this is the foam used in kitchen chairs. I got a roll of it from Hobby Lobby)
Picture Hanging System
My sweet husband picked up the plywoood for me at Lowe's and measured and cut it for me.
The PROCEDURE is pretty simple. Just lay your fabric pretty side down, lay badding down next, foam and then plywood. Trim off any excess you may have and then just wrap it tight to your plywood and staple. The last step is to hang it on your wall with your picture hanging kit. I thought it turned out cute. Not bad for a beginner.
Here is the tutorial I used from Pinterest.

After completing this project, and getting a little practice with this first headboard, I plan to make another one and maybe embellish it more with finishing nails and a different fabric. The possibilities are truly endless!
