Nursery Almost Complete & A Sweet Name

We did it! We finally came up with a full name for Colton...............Colton Joshua Gregory! I love how we incorporated my husband's first name. Josh and I were texting back and fourth yesterday. I told him that I really wanted us to figure a middle name out. We really liked Joshua, Jackson, Adam and James. I started thinking about it and decided that it would be so much sweeter if we could incorporate either Josh's first or middle name. I sent Josh another text and said, "So is it going to be Colton Joshua Gregory?" and he responded and said "YES!". I was so excited to finally have a full name. Let the monogramming begin!

On Thursday I went to the One Week Boutique. This is a huge consignment sale that is held every March and October. I did not find any furniture but I did find a wonderful Simmons mattress for Colton and lots of precious baby clothes! I even found the outfit we will have Colton wear for his baby pictures.

Josh and I had a very productive weekend. We purchased the carpet for the extra bedroom we added on to our house and Josh installed it. He is so smart and great at anything he sets his mind to. While he was installing the carpet I was out shopping for baby things. I ended up finding just about everything I had on my to do list except a rocker/glider chair. I cannot decide if I want one that is all upholstered or just a glider chair with wood trim.

After shopping all day I was exhausted so Sunday morning we started setting everything up. Josh put together the crib and dresser. He also helped me put together the bouncer/rocker chair for Colton. I put the mobile for his crib together all by myself and was so proud! I also organized all his clothes in size order, put the bedding in the crib and hung some pictures on the wall. I still have to paint the wooden letters of his name that i purchased at Joann's and hang those as well. At this point we are pretty much set. All we really need is a rocker/glider chair. My Mother-n-law and Father-n-law came over last night to check everything out and they told us that they were surprised at how prepared we are. It is such a relief to know we are so prepared.

Rag Wreath Project

My creative side is in full effect during my pregnancy and I have so many craft projects I can't wait to start. I went to Joann Fabrics yesterday and bought the materials for this precious rag wreath. I think it is so adorable and festive.

On another note my belly is still growing and I cannot wait for the little buddy to be here on July 11th!

Updates

I have so much to update everyone on. We finally decided that we would name our precious baby Colton! Still working on a middle name but I am very happy we could agree on such a wonderful first name. Josh is finishing the addition to our home so that we will now have four bedrooms and he has done an amazing job. I started a progression photoshoot with Judy D Photography. She is taking maternity pictures of me every month of my pregnancy. She does amazing work and I can't wait for the finished product. We finally ordered the crib and dresser for the Colton and I can't wait to start decorating. We ended up purchasing the crib from Target because we found it on sale and could not resist! One of my vary nice co-workers gave me a breast pump yesterday and some more great clothes. All we really have left to do is purchase a matress, highchair, stroller/car seat combo, pack and play, bassanet, overstuffed rocking chair, pasifiers, bottles and a few other cute things for the nursery. We are set with clothes until the baby is one year old! I have already started picking up diapers and wipes and I am finding some great deals. I also finished the collage for the wall in the nursey and I will post pictures soon.

Here I am at 20 weeks and getting more excited by the mintue!

We are so excited to meet Colton and cannot wait for July 11, 2011!

Our Sweet Boy

We went to my 18 1/2 week ultrasound appointment yesterday and found out we are having a precious baby boy! Our doctor told us everything looked great. Ten fingers and ten toes and very long legs. I guess he will be tall like me and his dad. My blood tests for Cystic Fibrosis, Down Syndrome and a few other birth defects came out negative and everything appears to look really good and healthy! My husband was so excited. He said he can't wait to take him fishing and teach him how to play baseball and football. We are so excited about the little buddy and think that we will probably name him Colton. We figured we could also call him Colt or Cole. We are reading through our name books to find a middle name and to just check and make sure we did not skip over another name we really like. I cannot wait to start shopping for the nursery.

This is a picture of the crib bedding we bought. It was a steal of a deal from Target and we could not resist. Its called Beansprout Nautical Patch and we love it! I plan on having the baby's initials monogrammed on the bedskirt. I think it will give it a nice personal touch.
We really love both cribs that are in this blog but the one below is my favorite! It is Baby Cache Heritage Lifetime Convertible Crib in Cherry wood and it is absolutely gorgeous in person! It also comes in Chestnut wood and white but we are really smitten with the cherry.
Here are pictures of the Highchair, stroller/Car seat Combo and Pack and play I picked out. I really like the pattern on the highchair so I am hoping that I can find the stroller / car seat combo and pack and play in the same pattern. They are all Chicco products. Chicco known for designing smart, modern baby gear and produce a very high quality product. I am also very happy that they meet the American Standard Consumer Safety Specifications.

We are so excited about our sweet precious boy and can't wait to meet him. This weekend we are gonna do a little baby shopping and I am super excited! A mother's intuition is amazing. As soon as I found out I was pregnant I knew it was a boy.

A Love Letter to My Unborn Child

I write this letter to my unborn child from the depths of my soul. You've entered my womb and made my life complete and whole. I never thought I would be chosen for such an awesome task. It is a greater blessing than what I ever could ask. I can almost imagine you in my mind. Beautiful, Happy, Bouncing, flashing a smile so kind. Feeling you flutter is a sensation like no other. It does wonders for the joy of this soon-to-be-mother! You create a glow in me I never knew I would see. It is true happiness that sets me on cloud nine manifested deep inside of me! You're my baby, my child, my heart, and my wonder. I pray we create a bond that no one can put asunder. You're a designers' original! A creation from the King! I can hardly wait for you to enter the world and see the joy you bring. Sweet baby of mine, you're a magnificent gift from above. Living proof of how your father and I have shared our love.I hope you have your fathers' eyes, then you will go into the world able to look at all things wise. I hope you inherit my ability to plan. With that you will be able to face all things in life as a strong woman or man. I hope you receive from your father his selfless ways. For this the Heavenly Father will bless you, as he did him, all of your days. I hope you learn from me, spirit and let no one take it. Believe me you will need it in life, and many will try to break it. But with that spirit you must have your father's center. With that you will be cautious of any door you enter. I want you to have my curiosity. There's nothing wrong with questions you may blurt! But receive your fathers' discernment, so you'll know when to let go before getting hurt. Have my big heart; know what emotions are and how to be real. Share your fathers' strength so you can handle what you feel. Share my sense of humor! Laugh a lot it helps you through life. Share your fathers' sense of duty. Know how to be serious and take strife. I'm emotional so I tell you its okay to blubber once and a while like your Mom. But learn to develop what your father has; an excellent sense of calm. But most of all the things I wish for your father and I to share. I wish we teach you to love, respect, strength of mind, and to care. These are my feelings, wishes and hopes for you. You make my heart and soul sing! I welcome you to the world and thank you for the joy, my little queen or king.
